seo keyword and competition?

December 5th, 2009 by admin | Filed in competition keywords

how can i accuratley tell which keywords to use based on search traffic and search result numbers? for instance how many searches per day based on word tracker would be good to have minimum and how many results from google/ competition maximum?

There is no exact rule for this. But, just an opinion, 40 daily searches minimum or 1,200 per month would be comfortable for beginners. Anywhere between 30K-50K competitors may be the max. 100K competitors would be serious keywords for me.

Since all keyword tools are always significantly wrong, it might seem impossible to find out what the real search traffic and competition is for a keyword.

The only way to get the actual data is to build a site which ranks on given keyword, (which can be very expensive) or advertise on given keyword. Since advertising can be done on a small budget, and without much time investment, the discriminating entrepreneur might advertise on a simple sales page website on a keyword for 30 days.

A review the actual traffic statistics provides valuable information about traffic volume and conversion potential.

No, you can not get the exact data. But keyword tool will help you guess it.
